DR. EDWARDS ELECTED BOARD CHAIRMAN
OF THE AMERICAN CHIROPRACTIC ASSOCIATION

 ARLINGTON,
VA - The American Chiropractic Association (ACA) - the nation's largest
professional association for doctors of chiropractic - has elected Emporia
doctor of chiropractic, James D. Edwards, DC, as chairman of its Board of
Governors.
Dr. Edwards, a 1977 graduate of the Logan College of Chiropractic has
practiced chiropractic in Emporia for 24 years. He was elected chairman of
the Board of Governors during ACA's 38th Annual Business Meeting in St.
Petersburg, FL, September 1, 2001.
Dr. Edwards has been extremely involved in the chiropractic profession
for many years. He previously served on the ACA's Executive Committee for
two years, as the Kansas ACA delegate and as chairman of the ACA Political
Action Committee. In addition, Dr. Edwards has served as delegate to the
National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, delegate to the Federation of
Chiropractic Licensing Boards, and is a Fellow of the Federation of Medical
Licensing Boards.
On the state level, Dr. Edwards serves as a member of the Kansas State
Board of Healing Arts, and is the current treasurer of the Kansas Chiropractic
Political Action Committee.
Dr. Edwards has been recognized for his service and significant contributions
to the chiropractic profession. In 1991, he was named "Doctor of the Year"
by the Kansas Chiropractic Association, was elected a Fellow of the International
College of Chiropractors in 1996 and was named national "Doctor of the Year"
by Dynamic Chiropractic magazine in 2000.
The ACA, based in Arlington, VA, is the largest chiropractic organization
in the country. The ACA provides lobbying, public relations, professional
and educational opportunities for doctors of chiropractic, funds research
regarding chiropractic and health issues, and offers leadership for the
advancement of the profession. The ACA promotes the highest standards of
ethics and patient care, contributing to the health and well-being of millions
of chiropractic patients.
